{"id":2340,"date":"2014-09-08T16:28:04","date_gmt":"2014-09-08T16:28:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sitekickr.com\/blog\/?p=2340"},"modified":"2014-09-08T16:35:43","modified_gmt":"2014-09-08T16:35:43","slug":"usability-end-of-document-padding","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sitekickr.com\/blog\/usability-end-of-document-padding\/","title":{"rendered":"Usability and end-of-document padding"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Just an hour ago I had a client email me to let me know that they couldn&#8217;t see the text at the bottom of a quick report I created for them.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reason:<\/strong> The task bar at the bottom of Windows 8 was overlapping the browser window.<\/p>\n<p>In my head, I started thinking &#8220;okay, why not just reduce the size of the browser&#8221;. But, then I considered the annoyance of having to resize the browser just to see the text at the bottom of a page, then maximizing the browser window again afterwards.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The simple solution:<\/strong> Add some padding at the bottom of the document.<\/p>\n<p>This tiny little issue alone has made me kind of re-think the whole concept of<a href=\"http:\/\/ryanfait.com\/sticky-footer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"> sticky footers<\/a>.
