We at SiteKickr commonly deal with one of two problems:

  1. We roll out a CMS for a company, and the users aren't quite savvy enough to know how to properly hyperlink emails. CMS shortcoming, no doubt.
  2. Email addresses are page scraped from websites which display them as hyperlinks or plain text.

There are JavaScript solutions for this all over this place, but nothing was packaged nicely into a plugin. So, we decided to fill the gap.
